Colorado Vocal Institute
Singing in the Mountains
Colorado Vocal Institute is an audition-based program specifically designed to nurture the development of high school singers in Classical and Musical Theater singing. Our program differs from other programs in that it places an emphasis on individual lessons and coachings. Students (incoming 9th graders through recent high school graduates, ages 13-18) learn to be better singers and performers within a small group of singers from across the country.
Faculty for Colorado Vocal Institute
Dr. Robert Best who is on faculty at Baylor University together with his wife Julianne Lundgren Best who has been an adjunct professor at Baylor University form the core of the Colorado Vocal Institute educational experience. With additional coaches, collaborative pianists, acting teachers, and yoga teachers, a small and intimate team is formed to give students a wealth of individual experiences as well as classes with the whole group of singers.
Vilar Performing Arts Center
One of the things that makes our Institute in Beaver Creek so speacial is our access to a state of the art performace venue at the Vilar Performing Arts Center.
Students have the opportunity to practice performing on a big and beautiful stage. This is a rare and wonderful experperience for young singers.
Teen Lodge
Colorado Vocal Institute teens share a Teen Lodge experience not only with the other vocalists but also with teens from the sister program the Colorado Chamber Music Institute. Teen counselors lead them through fun activities each evening to create lasting memories and bonds with the other teens from around the country.
