Music in the mountains

Each summer families gather from all over the country and around the world to come together to learn, make music, and play! The week in Beaver Creek is filled with classes during the day, concerts in the afternoon, and picnics, sing a longs, marshmallow roasting, pizza parties and more in the evenings. Families stay for 6 nights at one of the fabulous hotels in Beaver Creek where they can take a swim or hot tub in the evening or sit around the fire before heading to bed. CSI is open to students studying Suzuki Cello, Suzuki Guitar, Suzuki Piano, Suzuki Viola, and Suzuki Violin students.

What is the Suzuki Method?

The Suzuki Method is more than a way to learn music; it’s a philosophy that nurtures the whole person. Founded by Japanese violinist and educator Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, this innovative approach to music instruction focuses on the belief that talent is not inherited but developed through an encouraging environment.

Dr. Suzuki often said, “The potential of every child is unlimited.”  This core belief shapes the Suzuki Method, emphasizing that with loving support, consistency, and practice, every child can grow into a skilled and confident musician.

Symphony of life and living!

In the symphony of life, each note represents a unique individual, yet together at CSI, we create harmonies that resonate far beyond the confines of our immediate surroundings. The melodies we craft together weave a tapestry of shared experiences, forging bonds that endure far beyond the final cadence.

Moreover, the backdrop of outstanding natural beauty that surrounds Beaver Creek serves as a reminder of the symbiotic relationship between music and the world. Just as a mountain peak reaches towards the heavens, so too does music elevate our souls, inspiring everyone to reach new heights of creativity and expression.

At the Colorado Suzuki Institute we view each child, each musician as part of a bigger picture. It is not only the child’s eduaction we nurture but the supporting family. It is not just the family that we support but the whole musical community. It is not just the musical community that we empower but the community’s relationship with the world and nature that surrounds them. The Colorado Suzuki Institute aims to nurture and inspire the best in each child and the support system that surrounds them.
